Burnout in Sports

Every athlete should be on fire when it comes to their discipline.  But when does this fire burn down? Burnout is not only a problem for managers, but in every area in which full action is required and given over a long period of time.

Burnout im SportNot only since the tragic death of the German goalkeeper Robert Enke the task has been to discuss subjects like burnout, depression and pressure to perform. Many time athletes have found themselves in difficult situations. Just think about Jan Simak, Sebastian Deisler, the tennis player Jennifer Capriati or Sven Hannawald.

There is a fine line between depression and burnout, the demarkation of which is not always easy. All the more, an exchange between people involved and experts is necessary. We hope that such an intense exchange will direct the appropriate attention to the subject and will help to break an old taboo.
